Stone: Broken, shows name, birth, death and large anchor (does not mention
Confederate service)

Wounded in First Manassas
Died at home resulting from wounds, Pickens Co. SC
Joined at age 46 in R.G.H Griffin's Company, 14 April 1861, Pendleton, SC and
signed 7 June 1861, Columbia, SC
Record shows William Williams, PVT. 3rd Brigade, Company 4 SC , Appears on
list of missing or wounded in the Battle of Manassas, Virginia 21 July, 1861.
List dated 29 Aug 1861. Remarks: Wounded
